Today's Question
For some much needed levity. What do you prefer on your pizza, cheese only, pepperoni, or bacon? You may only choose one, your favorite. Defend your position.
Cheese only. Cheese never fails to satisfy. Pepperoni varies from place to place, pizza to pizza, and can result in an unsatisfactory pizza-eating experience. While I am usually of the view that anything is better with bacon, in this case, it's in the same boat as pepperoni. When in doubt, stick to simple.
I have to have pepperoni on a pizza, unless in Roma, of course. There, all bets are off and Margherita, or Anchovy, or Speck, or Prosciutto, but that wasn't the question now was it. Pepperoni. Final Answer.
I LOVE bacon, much more than pepperoni. The one thing I don't like is how the house smells after cooking bacon. So I usually cook it out on the grill. I would definitely go with bacon.
Cook it in the oven on a cookie sheet on a baker's rack. The house won't smell nearly as bad as you think and then you can keep the rendered fat in a jar for cooking vegetables and beans. See, the internet is good for something.

ReplyDeletePepperoni....i have to have meat on my pizza. Don't get me wrong, I'll eat a cheese pizza, but given the choice, I always choose one with meat.
